What is the source of happiness?
What makes us happy? Is it our friends, significant other, or family? Is it our home, bank account, or clothes we wear? Is it the fact that we live by the beach, on the countryside, or in the mountains?
No, actually, it's not.
It's ourselves.
We make us happy.
We make ourselves feel fulfilled, happy, and joyful.

People who are HAPPY are EXTREMELY social. This is happiness of giggling and good cheer, but this is not enough. Let's explore the three different "happy lives" proposed by Martin Seligman (TED Talk HERE):

- Pleasant life is having as MANY positive emotions as we can and being able to AMPLIFY these skills through mindfulness. We are AWARE of it.
- Engagement life is a life in our work and leisure. Time STOPS when we are in the flow of something we enjoy. We stop looking at the time, and are intensely focused on what we're doing. When I hold the paintbrush to the canvas, time dissipates. When I reach the bottom of the ocean and follow the current alongside fish, I have to intermittently check my air remaining or I would lose track of time and be forced to transform into a mermaid. I am absorbed. I am engaged.
- Meaningful life is parallel to eudaimonia and knowing our highest strengths in the service of a greater good, something bigger than us. We feel an immense spirituality associated with happiness. We teach others the positivity and ability to savor positivity. We are gratuitous of our life. We use our strengths in relationships, our work, and our daily lives.
