I believe in working hard and fighting for dreams. I don't expect return for my contributions to the outer world, rather I am happy to give a piece of myself in my work. The gratification and reward I receive from my hard work is happiness of others and a feeling of fulfillment. In my profession as a pediatric Physical Therapist, I am rewarded by the minute with smiles and laughs from children I am working with, followed by gratitude from families, caregivers, and loved ones who appreciate the work I do. I never consider my job "work," however, as I am completely myself in the "office," which sometimes involves a pool or playground. I am thankful I have a job that gives me the sense of fulfillment I receive on a daily basis, even on a tough day where I may have a difficult child (crying, aggressive behaviors, etc., etc.) because they especially deserve my full commitment.
Words on Being Thankful from TinyDevotions
People who focus on abundance and gratitude are wealthy no matter how much money is in their bank account. Abundance is the opposite of grasping for more. It is being content with what you have, being generous and in flow. If you focus on what you don't have you will be grasping at so much. There are infinite things that you don't have and if you are focussing on lack - you are setting yourself up for a miserable life where that is all you see. There will always be someone richer, more beautiful, smarter, funnier etc.
You are more than enough and you have more than enough. When you focus on being grateful for the infinite things that you have you will let go of the infinite things you don't have.
