Last week, my partner-in-crime, Suzette, and I grabbed dinner at Piola in Davie. While she awaited my arrival, Suzette discovered a dance studio after parking in the plaza. Intrigued by window-watching the dancers at Dancing Through Life, she took a seat in the studio until I arrived. I was equally interested, so we inquired about available classes, and quickly learned it was something we needed to do in 2016. The studio offers salsa, bachata, zumba, hip-hop, and jazz lessons. It's located close to our work, and the class times are perfectly aligned with our schedules. Convenient? I think not!
Back in college, I self-taught myself salsa via a DVD at a friend's house, yet I require a serious refresher (I know, surprising). Also, I am embracing the latino culture in South Florida and plan to continue practicing latin dancing. Lessons are certainly in order! We purchased a Groupon for 10 classes, and are committed to learning to salsa the proper way. Today, we attended our first salsa lesson. I am seriously looking forward to learning more steps, then following-up with practicing at various locations throughout South Florida. Today, we learned:

- Take smaller steps
- Don't try to take the lead! (Natural tendency of us ladies...)
- Don't grab with your thumbs
